MCPS's draft building plan no longer lists Site #7 for the bus depot. So the plan for the hearings is simple: two or three neighbors speak for both communities, and the message is thanks. Nothing is needed from anyone else.
That's it. Calm, kind and short.
About one minute at a calm pace. Two minutes is the limit, so there's room for a sentence of your own.
Good evening, members of the Board. My name is [your name], and I live in [your neighborhood], next to Wootton ES Site #7 at Shady Grove Road and Cavanaugh Drive.
I'm here to say thank you. The draft building plan no longer lists Site #7 for the school bus depot. Hundreds of my neighbors wrote to you this year, and we are grateful you listened.
We understand MCPS needs a new depot, and we want it to find the right place. That place is commercial or light industrial land. A bus depot does not belong in any residential neighborhood in the county.
Thank you for your time, and for your work for our students.
Thank you for signing up. Tell us in the WhatsApp group or reply to our email, then pick one. Both are fine.
Anyone can watch either hearing on the Board webcast.
